Carrots, oh boy!

Mommy gave me carrots yesterday for the first time! As usual (except with avocado), I am mostly non-plussed by any new food. But I loved carrots and mommy could tell because when I finished my entire bowl I cried because I wanted more carrots. But mommy says my tummy is still tiny and I can't eat too much at once. Mommy also says it's hard to feed me and video at the same time. I love my mommy and the yummy food she makes for me!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mommy was really busy yesterday, so she didn't have time to hold me up to the computer to write my blog so I could wish everyone a happy thanksgiving. I hope everyone had a great day. I got a lot of exercise in my jumperoo today and played in my pack-n-play a lot while mommy made dinner. Then I got to hang out with daddy and his friends before bed! Since dinner time was the same as my bed time, here's a picture of what I did while everyone ate turkey. I can't wait until I can eat thanksgiving dinner!

Inchworm

Today I escaped my pillow corral and went exploring. I managed to find a spare piece of cable wire that no one had ever even seen before, how exciting!

Then I played "chase" with mommy. Chase is a really fun game where I try to get something I really want, usually something that isn't a normal toy, and every time I get it, mommy moves it a little farther away.

Having Fun

Well, I am still sick, but that doesn't stop me from playing and having some fun, in between naps and cuddling with mommy. Here I am exercising on my gym from Auntie Julie, and notice the pretty pretty blanket my great-grandma made for me!

Crackley butterflies are yummie!

Play time is so much fun!

My First Cold :(

A few days ago, I got my very first cold. Being sick is no fun, but I am very brave and still manage to smile and play. Today mommy wouldn't take me to swim lessons because of my cold. Instead, I got to stay in my pj's most of the day.

I like to be on my belly most of the time, because it's easy to move all over the place from my belly. I get up on my knees and rock back and forth, and then I "jump" forward and fall on my face. I can get lots of places this way!

My First Boo Boo

I got my first boo boo one day, and my second on the very next day. The first day, I accidentally got under the bed a little bit and banged my head. The second day, I was playing sit up at the gym childcare and tipped over and hit my head in the exact same place. I cried a little with my boo boos, but not too much. Here I am being very brave, letting mommy ice my head, in between bites of food. This is the only time mommy could ice my head without me trying to eat the ice pack. I think everything is yummy!

Look How I've Grown!

Mommy loved my going home from the hospital outfit so much that she bought me another one in a bigger size. Look how much I've grown from when I was brand new!

Ok, I know I'm throwing a big fit in the first picture, but it was the first time I'd ever gotten dressed, and it was very stressful. Now I get dressed several times a day and I never complain a bit. I am such a big boy!

Exploring

I love to explore things. One of the things I love to explore is the inside of people's mouths. Here I am exploring daddy's mouth. I love my daddy!

Swim Lessons with Mommy

This week mommy helped me learn how to swim and daddy took pictures.

In addition to kicking my legs like a froggy, I also splish-splashed my arms a little bit. Mommy and daddy were very excited! I tried not to drink as much pool water today, but I still drank some. Swimming is fun!

Pears, mmmm

I now eat pears. I really like pears. I never make any funny faces when I eat pears, and I eat the entire bowl. I like to suck my thumb off and on while eating, and I also gnaw on the high chair too. Meal time is fun!

Meet my sippy

This is my sippy cup. As far as I can tell, it is just something else yummy and rubbery to gnaw on!

Nap Time?

My mommy is usually very good about having me at home for nap time. But sometimes, she just really has to get things done, so I am late taking my nap. Thank goodness mommy got this really comfy shopping cart cover for me to ride in, because when I get tired now, I can just lie down and take a nap. It even has a pillow!

Making Friends

I like to go to the beach with my buddy Andrew. He's almost 4 months old, so I am bigger than him. Here I am trying to gnaw on Andrew's head. Mommy says to be careful because Andrew might not want to be my buddy anymore if I gnaw on him too much.

After that, our mommies sat us up to play, but I tried to gouge out Andrew's eyes and he didn't much like that. For some reason, mommy and daddy don't like this either?

We did better on our tummies...

I really want Andrew's eyeball!

Andrew wanted to play with my giraffe too. His mommy told me he has one just like it, so he probably thought it was his

Then I started hoarding all my toys. I was worried Andrew might try to take them all.

Making friends is fun!

6 Months

I went to the doctor today for my checkup. At 6 months (almost 6.5), I weigh 18.6 pounds and am 27.3 inches tall. In a month and a half, I've gained a little over a pound and grown almost an inch. Daddy says he's glad I've slowed down growing because every time I grow he has to spend another $300.

Here are some of the things I can do at 6 months:
- I like to sleep on my tummy with my head in the corner of my crib. I also like to grab the bumper pad and hug it while I sleep. I go to bed at 6:30pm and wake up around 6:30am and play in my crib until mommy comes to get me. I usually only take 2 naps, but mommy still tries to make me take 3.
- I can sit up by myself, but sometimes I still get really excited and tip over.
- I can say "ma ma ma ma," and just the other day I said "da da da." I can say lots of other things too, but mommy and daddy get really excited when I say "ma ma ma ma" and "da da da."
- I can eat oatmeal and avocado!
- I can scoot backwards.
- I can get up on my knees and rock back and forth. I can do this for about a minute and then I fall down.
- I can get pretty much anywhere I want to by rolling. I just scoot sideways to get in the right direction, then start rolling!
- I love the water. I am learning how to swim and I make huge splashes every night in the bath. I like to drink pool and bath water.
- I still don't have any teeth, but love to gnaw on anything and everything around me.

My cool hat

My grandma Erika and grandpa Dick went all the way to Africa, and they brought me back this cool hat! It is very stylish and keeps the sun off my face! Thank you oma and grandpa!

Story Time

Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?
Story time is so much fun! I love to listen to the silly sounds mommy and daddy make when reading the silly stories. My favorite part of story time is trying to gnaw on the books. Mommy and daddy tell me no, but it's just part of the story time game.
