Happy half-birthday!

Baby Erik is 6 months old today!

He spends a lot of time "flexing" his legs :)

Getting in the mood for Halloween...

These past 6 months have been amazing!
Erik is such an awesome little guy and has brought so much happiness into our lives!
We couldn't have dreamed of having a more perfect baby!
(This post was written my Erik's mommy :)

Crazy Baby

About an hour before bedtime, I turn into crazy baby! Crazy baby squeals and screams and is just all wound up!

Another day at the beach

Today I got to play with my friends at the beach, and I got to go in the ocean to play in the waves!

First, I said hello to my buddy Andrew. He's half my age!

Then I played in the sand with mommy.

I kept grabbing Andrew because I wanted to gnaw on his arm!

I had fun in the ocean with mommy. Andrew's mommy and daddy took him in the ocean too!

My buddy Gavin helped show me how to play with my toys. He's so cool!

Sweet Baby

The quality of this pic isn't great, but mommy thought it was so so sweet that she wanted to share! It was taken about a month ago when we were at grandma's in Georgia. Mommy really need to get an iphone so we have better quality pictures...

My First Taste of Sand!

Today I went to the beach with mommy. She finally let me put my hands in the sand, so I ate sand for the first time today. I didn't really like the taste, but that didn't stop me from trying to eat it again and again. Every time mommy washed off my hands, I put them right back in the sand! I had a lot of fun playing in the waves and watching the water. I even laughed when mommy rinsed me off in the cold shower. I am such a good boy!

I just ate the sand!

The Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday mommy took me to the pumpkin patch. We met my friends Devon and Gavin and their mommy and daddy. We picked out pumpkins and the older boys played games. Devon won a poster of Jesus. He wanted a Whiskey poster but his mommy said no.

Devon found me my very own little bitty pumpkin!
I wasn't really sure what to do with it, since I couldn't
lift it and put it into my mouth, so I just petted it instead.

This is my buddy Gavin! He likes to help me do things.
Sometimes he rolls me over when mommy isn't looking.
He also likes to give me my toys when I'm supposed to be napping
and put my pacifier in my mouth for me. He rocks!

Balancing on the pumpkin was hard work!

Mommy's friend took some pictures of me and mommy
in the pumpkin patch, but she'll have to post them another time
because we don't have them yet...

5 1/2 months

At 5 1/2 months, I can sit up for a few minutes at a time, but only as long as my center of gravity is shifted forwards. I still tip over if I lean back. I haven't tried any food other than breastmilk, but that should change in a few weeks! I eats 4-5 times a day, and go to bed at 6:30pm and sleep until 6:30-7:30am! I can push the button to start both my mobile and swimming fish device, which amazes mommy! I can roll all over the place, so mommy can't leave me lying around anymore!

These pictures are of me trying out my new blanket, thanks great aunt Kathy!

Funny little sleeper

Now that I'm out of the swaddle for sleeping, I move all over the place and end up in some pretty funny and cute positions. I also love sleeping on my tummy since I'm out of the swaddle. It made mommy really nervous at first, but I really do sleep great this way, and my naps have gotten significantly longer and more consistent. Regardless of how mommy puts me down, I always end up on my tummy, usually sucking my thumb!

Sophie the Giraffe

I have a new favorite toy, thanks to my girlfriend Emma and her mommy Carrie! I now have this toy with me constantly. I absolutely love chewing on this thing ALL the time. I think the long thin legs and body make it very easy for me to manipulate, plus it makes a squeaky noise when I chew, and latex tastes yummy too!

I love the new jumperoo!

I loved the jumperoo instantly! I constantly wanted mommy to stand me up, so she thought it was time for a contraption that could do this and make her life easier! It took me a while to figure out how to turn around and to actually put both feet down and jump, but now I have a blast! It is always covered with spitup by the time I'm finished playing :-).
