Berry Pickin'

Earlier in the summer, we all went berry pickin'. We all is me, mommy, oma, grandpa, and Lily. It was a lot of fun but I never posted about it because I was very busy. But now I'd like to tell you about my trip to the berry patch.

Here is a picture of me when I first went into the berry patch. I was excited because I'd been promised strawberries.

Here's mommy getting ready to start picking berries. Lily rode on mommy's back while we picked berries, so mommy did more blackberry picking than strawberry picking. Lily wore her strawberry shirt to pick strawberries, but she delined her photo op.

Grandpa is explaining that I should only pick the very ripe strawberries. You can tell a strawberry is ripe because it is red. Red is a great color because red is the color of delicious.

Oma needed to remind me how to find the good berries because I kept forgetting and picking any old thing I could find.

Look at that!

YUM!

The berry patch also had blackberries. Blackberries and other kinds of berries that look like blackberries but taste even better!

Grandpa tried to explain that I should only pick the really dark blackberries, but the sour red ones tasted just fine to me!

Here's mommy and Lily with all the berries we picked! Lily took a nice nap on mommy's back while she picked berries.

Mommy made all kinds of delicious things with our berries. She made pies and tarts and jams, and I loved it all! I can't wait till we go pick apples in a few weeks!

The Zoo

Another cool thing about Uncle Daniel is that he took me to the zoo. And everyone knows how awesome the zoo is.

I hope I will see Uncle Daniel again soon and also hope someone will take me to the zoo again soon!

Uncle Daniel

My Uncle Daniel lives in Tennessee, near Grandma Reba. Uncle Daniel is really cool because he really likes to play with me all the time and never ignores me to prepare food or start laundry or any other ridiculous thing like that.

We sure do miss you and love you Uncle Daniel!

Grandpa Dave and Jewie

Another reason that we went to Georgia was to visit my Grandpa Dave and Grandma Jewie. It was very hot in Georgia, so we had to try really hard to keep cool. Here we are playing in our pool at their house.

We miss you guys so much!

Happy Birthday Lily!

On October 1, baby Lily turned ONE! Or so that's what mommy told me. I just carried on like it was my birthday again and the party was for me. I wore my birthday shirt (which is a little too short now) and my birthday hat (which I wouldn't even wear at my own party) and ate (pink) cupcakes and had a grand time. So who's to say it wasn't my birthday?

Lily had her first tortilla chip. Let's just say it didn't end well.

Lily's cookies and cupcakes were delicious, but my mommy really needs to take a cake decorating class. We have high standards around here and she's just not cutting it.

Lily wasn't sure what to expect when she was stuffed into her high chair with everyone watching.

She was very skeptical when mommy approached with fire on a stick.

Not sure what to do with her cupcake...

So she flipped it over...

Daddy tried to show her how to eat it...

But she just wasn't into it.

She was, however, into the balloons.

More than anything, Lily just wants to play with her shoes. She loves to chew on them and carry them around everywhere. If you let her have a shoe, she is happy.

This is Lily with Oma and Grandpa.

Since Lily it too little to open presents, and it was my birthday anyway, me and my friends opened the presents.

Naturally, Lily's favourite present was her new shoes.

Lily's cupcake shirt and "1" bib were made by Kim at Daisy Faye Designs, of course. And guess what? Kim had HER baby on the SAME DAY at Lily's birthday! How cool is that?! Lily and I can't wait to meet baby Gabe! Now we have two friends named Gabriel! Happy birthday to Lily and Gabe!
