I have been thinking about telling you about my blankie for a while now. My blankie is very special and I will not go to sleep without it. If someone puts me in my crib without my blankie, I will cry until I am brought the blankie. This happened a lot when I was sick to my tummy. Every time I wanted to go to sleep, the blankie was still being cleaned.
My blankie has a very special story. My great-aunt Rita (my grandma Reba's twin sister) made this blankie originally for my mommy, over 30 years ago. Mommy loved the blankie, but didn't get quite as attached to hers as great-aunt Rita's kids did to theirs. For example, mommy didn't carry part of her blankie at her wedding or with her on her honeymoon. One or both of these things may have been done (or are being done) by my mommy's cousins. So when mommy was getting ready to have me, she asked grandma to send her some of her old baby things so that maybe I could use them. Well, I am so happy my grandma saved this blankie all these years, because I love it so much! It is so soft and fluffy and just perfect for cuddling up with. I especially love to snuggle my face up with the blankie. Usually when I sleep, I sleep with my face on the blankie kinda like a pillow, but sometimes I also use it as a cover. Then when I wake up, I cuddle with the blanket some more and like to stand up holding it and sucking my thumb. My blankie makes me so happy, thanks great-aunt Rita!
Mommy asked grandma to find some pictures of her with the blanket, so if we get those, we can post them here with mine! (hint hint) And I will try to have mommy take a picture of the blankie all by itself so you can really see how cool it is!
